Who helps Students?

Guidance Support Tutors are the first point of contact in offering support if problems arise. They are available in the Guidance Support Centre.

Gaynor Tetley, College Counsellor, is available if you want help or information on a wide range of matters. This service is confidential. Gaynor’s office is located in the GST centre.

Shaun Butcher is the Student Union President.

Janette Tate & Jordan MacDonald, Student Governors, may bring a concern to the attention of the Corporation.

Jemma Punch Careers Officer, in the Guidance Support Centre is available to help students find the information they need concerning careers and higher education, including work experience. Direct Dial 380754.

Margaret Shelton Careers Specialist, in the Guidance Support Centre is available to help students find the information they need concerning careers and higher education, including work experience.

Maggie Wray and Julie Coates, Student Services, can provide information concerning financial help, including EMA, and assistance with travelling expenses. If you have any information for the Student Bulletin, please take written details to Student Services. Direct Dial 380700 or 380762.

Shirley Woodcock, College Examination Officer can help you with any matter concerning external examinations such as clashes, special consideration or special arrangements. Direct Dial 380756.

Julie Walkington, Learning Support Manager. The Study Centre is fully staffed during college hours. It may be that you are timetabled to receive specific support there (eg.Literacy/numeracy/organisation). Equally, please feel welcome to use it as a drop-in centre if you are experiencing any difficulties with your studies. You may also wish to consult our Disability Statement “Helping You To Learn”, available from Reception.

Richard Bennett and Paul Atkinson, IT Department, can help you with any matter concerning using the College’s computers.

David Lloyd, Estates Officer, can help you with any problems concerning the College buildings. Contact through Reception.

Diane Marsay, College Librarian, can help you find information in books or on computer that you need for any aspect of your college work, or for Higher Education applications.

Maria Khan, Admissions & Marketing Manager, oversees all references for progression to employment, other colleges and university. Direct Dial 380722.

Rowan Johnson, Vice Principal, Student Services, is also available for help and consultation about any matters, academic, career programme or personal and for application forms for hardship funds. She is also available to help you if you wish to continue your studies after the Level 2 course.

Marcus Towse, Vice Principal, Curriculum & Quality, is available for help with curriculum issues that cannot be resolved by your subject tutor/head of department/Area Director.
