Lifelong Learning
Our aim in relation to lifelong learning is “to open the College to the local community, through the provision of courses with a ‘lifelong learning’ focus”.
The centre runs courses on 3 evenings per week (currently Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) as well as offering specially designed courses for Over 50s in ICT and languages on Wednesday afternoons.
Courses offered include:
-
ICT (for beginners and more advanced learners, and ECDL)
-
Arts (Ceramics, Textiles, Jewellery Making and Digital Photography
-
Foreign Languages (French, German, Italian and Spanish)
-
British Sign Language (accredited by OCSL)
Course fees are set at as low a level as possible and concessions (subject to status) are available on funded programmes.
All learners can use college facilities such as computers, the library and the careers service at designated times. We are sure that you will find the quality and range of courses attractive and should you choose to enrol on a course, we look forward to welcoming you and to supporting you in your studies.
Most daytime, afternoon and evening courses are run in the College’s normal accommodation at Sandybed Lane, making use of the same classrooms and facilities as our day-time students (Textiles is currently run at the tutor’s own studio based at Woodend Creative Space).
Please note that not all courses are offered every term. Contact the Lifelong Learning Centre for the latest information and for course detail sheets.
